It is known to have tremendous antixoidants, it helps to reduce cholesterol level, boost metabolism and moderate mental stress responses.

Drinking matcha in the traditional way is not for everyone due to it’s bitterness taste. However, because of it’s popularity, matcha latte has become a conventional way of drinking matcha in the modern world. Following is a matcha latte recipe, it’s simple and easy to make. Try it today for yourself and feel the difference it makes!

Matcha Latte Recipe – 1 serving:

1 level teaspoon of matcha
3 tablespoon of hot water
8 oz of whole milk (you can substitute with low fat or soy milk)
1 teaspoon of sugar (you can subsitute with honey – if you prefer unsweetened, no sugar/honey will be added)

In a tea mug, mix the matcha and hot water together until it becomes a smooth paste.

Add the sugar to the milk and warm it up over low heat, make sure the milk never reaches to boil. Once heated, pour milk into the tea mug and stir until incorporated.

Ingredients:

1 tsp matcha

2/3 cup soy milk (unsweetened or lightly sweetened)

1/3 cup hot water 176 F

Ice cubes 5-6 pieces

Directions:

1. Sprinkle 1 tsp matcha into a glass.

2. Add the hot water and whisk using a chasen (bamboo wisk) until a light froth forms on top. (If you don’t have a whisk add the water incrementally and stir with a spoon to suspend the matcha evenly.)

3. Add 2/3 cup soy milk and ice cubes then stir and enjoy!

Matcha Sunrise

Ingredients:

1 tsp matcha

1/2 cup orange juice (lemonade is also good!)

1/2 cup hot water 176 F

Ice cubes 7-8 pieces

Directions:

1. Combine matcha and hot water in a matcha bowl (or a café Au Lait bowl).

2. Whisk thoroughly with a chasen (bamboo wisk) until it foams. If you do not have a Chashaku, you can stir with spoon until all the clumps are removed. (It’s easier to pour the hot water little by little)

3. Divide the ice cubes placing half in the matcha bowl and half in a tall glass.

4. Pour the orange juice into the tall glass while the ice melts in your matcha bowl.

5. Slowly pour the cool matcha over a spoon into the glass and enjoy! (The spoon helps keep the layers from mixing)
